ColleMassari was founded in 1998 when entrepreneur Claudio Tipa identified, in a little-known area of Maremma, the perfect place to make his life's dream come true. In little more than two decades it's become the headquarters of one of Montecucco's, and Italy's, leading wineries, serving as the centerpiece of a prestigious group that's expanded with acquisitions in Montalcino (Poggio di Sotto, San Giorgio) and Bolgheri (Grattamacco). Their range continues to prove impeccably crafted and marked by notable personality.

Vermentino Melacce '19
ColleMassari Castle is located in Cinigiano in the area of Montecucco. Maria Iris Bertarelli and Claudio Tipa are the owners since 1998. The estate is located on the slopes of Monte Amiata in a microclimate characterized by wide temperature ranges that favor the viticulture. We taste, together with Marco Sabellico, the Vermentino Melacce '19. A wine with a brilliant straw yellow and an intense aroma of green apple, citrus fruits and herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. A fresh, sapid and mineral wine, characterized by fullness and a great structure supported by a fresh acidic streak. Very elegant and balanced, it is perfect with all seafood dishes from classic raw seafood to baked fish or cookend in the pan.

ColleMassari Montecucco Rosso Riserva 2016
Montecucco Rosso Riserva is the symbolic wine of the ColleMassari Castle. It is produced in vineyards located just 300 meters above sea level and it is mainly made from grapes Sangiovese and small additions of Ciliegiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon. With Marco Sabellico we taste the 2016 vintage. The color is an intense ruby red and, on the nose, it has a complex and elegant bouquet made of ripe dark fruits including blackberry, raspberry and cherry, a delicate balsamic nuances and a concentration of aromatic herbs and spices. In the mouth it is elegant and rich. It has silky tannins and at the end it results long and persistent. A balanced red wine, perfect with savory first courses, roasted or grilled meats or aged cheeses.

San Giorgio Brunello di Montalcino Ugolforte 2015
Tenuta San Giorgio, founded in 1982, is located near Castelnuovo dell’Abate, in the municipality of Montalcino, and has been part of the ColleMassari group since 2016. In this clip we will taste the Brunello di Montalcino Ugolforte '15. A garnet color and a fascinating and complex nose typical of Brunello with notes of red fruits, spices, balsamic and herbs of the Mediterranean scrub. An elegant, harmonious red wine, acidulous and with fine tannins that give a long and fruity finale. A very valid interpretation of a great vintage, with a measured style that makes the elegance a distinctive characteristic.
