It is not easy to encapsulate Marinella Camerani's thoughts and work in the few lines on this page. Fortunately, you can always go to the winery and chat with her, discovering something new each time. Founded in the 1980s, Marinella Camerani's winery, Corte Sant'Alda, is an essential reference point for getting to know Valpolicella and its wines, which are the result of responsible viticulture and cellar practices that enhance the character of the grapes and the terroir. The vineyards extend on the eastern side of the valley, between 250 and 350 metres above sea level, with exposures ranging from south to west, complemented by the Castagné property on the other side of the valley, which gives rise to the Adalia production. The path taken with his Corte Sant'Alda passes through an understanding of the land, its traditions and its wines, in a continuous search for balance in the relationship between the environment and agricultural life. In more than forty years, the company has considerably expanded its viticultural platform to a total of some twenty hectares that have been famed biodynamic management for years.

Corte Sant'Alda. Consistent quality for the whole range of wines

In the cellar, maximum attention is paid to the historical wines of Valpolicella, interpreted with a style of great aromatic precision and taste tension. Outstanding is the Amarone Val**zane '16 presented for the 2024 edition of the guide. The long maturation in the cellar has brought depth and harmony. Cherry stands out clearly against a background of medicinal herbs and dog rose that are even sharper on the palate where the wine is striking for the delicacy of its tannic structure, and the agility of its long sip. The Mithas '18 is rich, intense in its suggestions of red fruits and undergrowth. Produced from the Macie vineyard at an altitude of 350 metres, it is a full-bodied red that stretches out with elegance, tapering around the acidic thrust. But it is the entire range that offers interesting interpretations, combining typicality and pleasantness, with rigour and drinkability.
