According to a survey conducted by IGI - Istituto del Gelato Italiano, preferences in Italy are rather classic when it comes to gelato, although a growing number of variegated flavours are coming accross the scene. In second place among fan favourites - behind chocolate and ahead of hazelnut - is pistachio, voted by 14% of the subjects interviewed.
