Here are the labels of Barbera d'Asti that received the highest recognition, the Tre Bicchieri, in the 2024 Vini d'Italia Guide by Gambero Rosso. The Barbera grape variety is inextricably linked to the territory of Monferrato Astigiano. Located in southwestern Piemonte, in that hilly area nestled between the Ligurian Apennines, Langhe with the Cozie Alps on the horizon, and the Po River Valley: a territory emerged from marine waters between 2 and 3 million years ago. Here, the work of rivers over millennia has resulted in the creation of hills and valleys that shape the landscape we focus on today, at altitudes ranging from an average of 150 to 450 metres, within regulations allowing the cultivation of Barbera grapes up to 650 metres above sea level.
