From 100% plant-based establishments to inclusive shops that cater to every dietary need, here are the vegan bakeries not to miss in Milan for sweet treats

Vegans living in Milan certainly have nothing to complain about. The options are plentiful, especially for pizza and sushi, but even those with a sweet tooth can be satisfied thanks to various vegan bakeries scattered throughout the city. Here, we have gathered the ones that convinced us the most.

The Best Vegan Bakeries in Milan

Nepà

A lovely place to stop, whether for breakfast, a snack, or a tasty lunch break. The welcoming atmosphere is meticulously curated, with a display of sweets available at any time, and each creation is made with great skill. Nepà is the brainchild of Paola, Martina, and Giulia, who opened their vegan pastry shop in April 2023, already convincing us that it is the best in Milan. The morning pastries are well-made, filled with smooth and silky creams; the cinnamon rolls border on perfection, and the array of mini pastries, including tarts and cream horns, can convert even the most dedicated omnivore. Savory croissants, club sandwiches, and other lunchtime options are equally impressive; don't forget to order the birthday cake.

Pansy

A bakery that aims to be as inclusive as possible: all pastries are gluten-free and lactose-free, and there are also many vegan options. From morning pastries to celebratory cakes, there is something for people who do not want – or cannot – consume animal products. Chocolate lovers must try the bis, mini pastries with white chocolate and mandarin, and cinnamon chocolate on cocoa biscuit, covered with chocolate glaze. Also, try the vegan millefeuille.

Radicetonda

Primarily a restaurant, but the venue is open in the morning for breakfast. Pies, slices of cake, filled brioches in various flavors: the classic Italian breakfast is served in a vegetarian key, with plant-based cappuccinos and hot beverages. Don't miss a taste of baci di dama, fragrant and delicious, and the country cake with apples and cinnamon. There are two locations for the brand, not counting Nori Way, a vegetarian sushi restaurant owned by the same group, in Piazza Buozzi. For dessert enthusiasts, there will soon be another venue exclusively dedicated to pastries, with gluten-free options.

Eutopia

The Carrot and Almond Mafalda Cake is a true delight, exquisite in its simplicity, moist just right, and ideal for a snack. For the sweet-toothed, there are cookies and chocolate brownies, a true specialty, soft and melt-in-the-mouth. While not a 100% vegan bakery, there are plenty of vegan options, including single-serve treats like the Gardens of Babylon, a fragrant cardamom shortcrust with coconut cream. There are also lunch options, including tasty hummus and wraps.
