Six thousand wines and two thousand spirits. The story of three friends who opened their dream venue in Milan

Three wine-loving friends moved from Puglia to Milan to open the venue of their dreams: 18,000 bottles of wine and 2,000 spirits to be enjoyed neat only

Against the wear and tear of modern life... Do you remember that old slogan from a late-1960s Cynar advert? That’s exactly what came to mind when we heard the story of three friends — now also business partners — who moved from Puglia to Milan to open Remedy. Yes, a real remedy: for work stress, for the fast-paced rhythm of life, for the feeling that there’s never enough time. That’s what Alessandro Michelon, Michele Bernardi, and Amedeo Pagano had in mind when they decided to launch their venture in one of Italy’s fastest and most frenetic cities.

Remedy: the anti-stress recipe

Here, nothing is left to chance — starting with the interiors. It’s hard to miss the low wooden and glass table that doubles as a perfectly usable mini table football game. Wood panelling evokes the atmosphere of a British sitting room, there are velvet armchairs, carefully chosen lighting, and even some beautiful artisanal ceramics from Grottaglie — Michele’s hometown — on display. Michele, one of the partners, is also actively involved in the day-to-day running of the venue.
His background includes studies in the arts and various roles in his family’s businesses in Puglia (a bar, a gelateria, and a chocolate shop), until he and his brother took over Pasticceria Bernardi, still active today, where Michele managed product sales throughout Italy.

Wine, however, was always his true passion — a passion shared with fellow partner Amedeo, whom he met as a customer at the family’s hospitality business, Masseria Bagnara, over glasses of wine.
And once again, wine played its part in bringing Michele and Amedeo together with Alessandro, originally from Trentino but in Puglia for work — as an oenologist and consultant for several wineries. It was there that Alessandro also founded his own agricultural business: Masseria Borgo dei Trulli.

The vault and the custom wooden wine library

And here they are, all three of them, now in Milan — united by name and a shared passion for wine and the world’s finest spirits. United in their mission to “remedy” the daily stresses of life through good drinking.
Six thousand labels, totalling 18,000 bottles in the cellar: hundreds of wines representing the best of Italian and French production rest in the underground, visitable vault. There, you’ll find a true wine library, built entirely from wood and made to measure. Just seeing it is an experience in itself!

Then there’s the tasting room, with a central table for hosting private sessions, and a spirits collection of around 2,000 labels — all to be enjoyed strictly neat. Yes, you read that correctly: no mixed drinks, not even a gin and tonic — just the pure pleasure of each spirit on its own.

There’s food, too — not a full kitchen, but small gastronomic tastings from some of the best Italian producers. For smokers, there’s also a cigar room.
And with all of this, the remedy for daily life is truly guaranteed!
