The Michelin Guide 2024 awards 13 new green stars, adding to the list of restaurants already honoured with the important recognition

The Michelin Guide 2024 edition has awarded 13 new Green Stars, bringing the total number of restaurants with this award to 58, which celebrates environmental sustainability and respect for the environment in the restaurant industry. This award, now in its third edition, is for restaurateurs who stand out for their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

The Green Star is an award for the attention paid to energy, the valorisation of local and regional products, the commitment to reducing emissions and the involvement of the entire local system.

What is the green Michelin star?

The Green Star was first introduced in the Michelin Guide in 2021, with the aim of supporting and rewarding restaurants that stand out for their commitment to environmental sustainability. Criteria for obtaining this prestigious award can vary and include factors such as sourcing from local zero-kilometre sources, use of organic products, adoption of energy solutions such as solar panels, initiatives to reduce food waste, social commitment and training of young people.
