There are some grape varieties that have travelled through space and time more than others: vermentino is one of them. Some say it is a Spanish grape, which then spread to the southern coasts of France, to Corsica and, of course, to Liguria and Sardinia; others locate its cradle in Anatolia and have it arrive in the western Mediterranean with the trades of Greek navigators; still others believe it is an indigenous Italian grape that then spread to the rest of the “Mare Nostrum”.
