Make a note of Francesco Campanelli's name: his is one of the most fascinating projects of recent years. Three vineyards in different areas of the right bank of the Esino to obtain three strongly characterised cru wines. A concept that looks to the Langhe, if you like. The first year was 2021 where only the Palombare (vineyard in Sasso di Serra S.Quirico) was vinified at another winery. The 2022 vintage was carried out in the estate's own (Francesco bought the building and equipment from Maurizio Benigni, a name already known to inveterate Verdicchio enthusiasts) and involved the other two crus: the famous San Michele di Cupramontana and San Nicolò di San Paolo di Jesi

Marche wine with the best quality/price ratio for the Berebene 2024 guide

It is obvious, therefore, that the project focuses not so much on cellar technique - the grapes are all vinified in the same way (and the wines aged in cement) - as on the facets of the terroir and its differences.  The winner in the winery derby is by far the San Michele '22, which won our Regional Price Quality Award for the Marche region in the Gambero Rosso Berebene 2024 guide: intense already on the nose with fruity notes of peach, gooseberry and white currant streaked with nuances of aromatic herbs, powerful, tactile, with enormous flavour and a very deep finish.
