In a lovely town in the heart of Roero you'll find Sibona, a distillery with over a hundred years of history. Sibona is situated in an area of Piedmont that's famous for its prestigious vineyards, distilling grappa using local nebbiolo, barbera, arneis and moscato grapes. The pomace is worked while it is still fresh, so as to conserve its fragrance. Thanks to their skill, strict quality controls and well-maintained equipment, the standard of quality is consistently very high. In addition to their selection of young grappas, Sibona also produce aged spirits, using barrels in which some of the most prized wines and distillates are also aged, from Port to Sherry, Madeira and Tennessee Whiskey. Their vintage line features a series of complex and elegant grappas. You'll also find more novel products like their chamomile and aloe liquors, their decadent grappa filled chocolates (using Moscato grapes), chocolates made with amaro, and finally their 'drinkable cigars', single-shots of grappa. Their elegant gift wrapping is a nice touch.
