When it comes to the key factors that are accelerating and consolidating the success of quality Italian food exports, bilateral agreements are undoubtedly the most crucial. In addition to breaking down barriers and making the "Made in Italy" brand known throughout the world, they protect our excellence from phenomena like "Italian Sounding", which is worth about €100 billion a year (double our regular exports).
In addition to bilateral agreements, it's been important to have support for internationalization from the diplomatic network (MAECI), the ICE and the Chamber of Commerce, but also economic support from public entities (SACE/Simest).
Communication is also a fundamental tool, one for which information campaigns and increasingly robust promotional activities are necessary. Finally, we need to address certain important issues if we really want our exports to take off. Among the most urgent are increases in the cost of freight rates, international shipping and logistics systems in general.
