Botte Ventidue 2021

Lazio
white

Description

VINEYARD | Inside barrel 22 breathes a blend of two grape varieties indigenous to the Olevano Romano area, green trebbiano and octonese, from two vineyards planted at different times and cultivated in a completely traditional way. The origin of the soils is of volcanic nature, the grapes are harvested manually, when they reach full optimal ripeness and vinified to enhance their recognizability and adherence to the context in which we operate

PERSONS | Letizia Rocchi and Damiano Ciolli lead a boutique winery, about 7 hectares in total, meticulously cared for in every detail of production. Damiano Ciolli has inherited a family winemaking tradition-his grandfather Guido, like many producers in the Olevano Romano area, produced and sold bulk wine in Rome-bringing it to the next level, by strokes of fine Cesanese, so much so that he has managed to make the winery an absolute reference for the area.  So much passion, mild temperament, of few words, his bottles do the talking. Botte Ventidue is the only white produced at the winery.

WINE | The wine ferments spontaneously in large barrels, where it matures for 11 months, then rests for a month in a concrete tank before its journey to the bottle. The color is particularly concentrated, the aromas take us immediately between straw and hay, the scents are intense, between toasted notes, hazelnut, bread (yeast) and sensations of wild herbs. The impact in the mouth is powerful, it has volume and flavor, with herbaceous sensations chasing juicy peach tones. The finish is a bit fast, then a delicate smoky background revives the round of sensations. A wine of two faces and two rhythms, stored in a single barrel.
