Tuscany confirms itself this year as the most awarded region in the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2024 guide, with a remarkable 89 Tre Bicchieri awards. The number of finalist wines, the Due Bicchieri Rossi, to be precise, amounts to a notable 327. These results are well justified due to the vastness of the territory and designations, the variety of styles and terroirs. There is a dynamism, a desire for growth, and a commitment to deepening the bond with the land that never ceases.
Here, we focus on Montalcino and its emblematic wine, Brunello - according to Wine Spectator the best wine in the world -: we encountered a mid-range vintage, fresh and agile like the 2018, and a hot, drought-affected vintage like the 2017 for the Riserva. All of this once again highlighted the best performers from the vineyard.
