VINEYARD | Located in the Trapani countryside, Ziller 47 is a project strongly desired by Michele Sala that closes the circle on the versatility of a grape like grillo, capable of expressing itself in all possible types of wine. It is a white, unfortified, aged for 11 years in large barrels, which takes inspiration from the pre-British versions. The name is a tribute to the nickname given by friends to our father, considered as a precise, meticulous and stubborn character. The year is instead of his birth, 1947.
PERSONS | A great beauty, a context that takes our breath away in the middle of this family estate acquired at the end of the 19th century, which has long been a prestigious winery thanks to the foresight of Michele Sala and his wife Doretta. Today at the helm, with their mother, are daughters Annamaria and Clara, who continue with commitment the work set by their father in the name of an "en rose" entrepreneurship with a contemporary imprint, which happily combines pure tradition, family memories, and rigorous respect for the environment. The ancient baglio with cellar, home to all company activities, has a great aesthetic impact.
WINE | The colour is full and brilliant amber, a prelude to notes of marzipan, resin and walnut, for articulated and complex suggestions. In the glass it also releases peaty, oyster and finally dehydrated apricot notes. The mouth is soft, played between sweet and savoury sensations, notes of candied citrus fruits and salted caramel, and then turns towards toasted almond in the finish, in a balanced context, between the warm tones of alcohol and a perceptible residual sugar, but very integrated into the structure of the wine. The finish is long and continuous.
