Cinque Terre Sciacchetrà Anfora 2020

Liguria
sweet white

Description

VINEYARD | Located in the municipality of Rio Maggiore, on the vertical wall of the Possaitara valley. In one of the most enchanting places in the Cinque Terre. The overhanging vineyards lean out almost diving into the sea, creating a suggestive landscape made up of terraces, dry stone walls and vegetation. The vineyards are on various plots, of which Possaitara constitutes the largest. Others are located on the coast of Tramonti, Bargone, Casen di qui, Casen di là and Val di Serra, all between the towns of La Spezia and Riomaggiore. Small patches of land tended to by hand.

PEOPLE | Since 2004 Samuele Heydi Bonanini has been carrying on a strenuous resistance to safeguard the viticulture of the Cinque Terre. A smiling soul with a past as a truck driver who now devotes himself entirely to his vines and wines. A strong personality - here, on these terraces it's a must - who knows no obstacles, only possible solutions to temporary problems. And the quality of his work is present in every single wine. From white to rosé, to his Sciacchetrà proposals.

WINE |  Samuele's Sciacchetrà asks for patience. In the glass the colour is intensely amber and intense. It takes a while, a round of volatile and then slowly opens on the nose with notes of leather and withered flowers. Time softens the initial slightly angular aromas and here emerge gentian, resin, bark. It is rich on the palate, sweetness and acidity give character to the sip, for an energetic and net development. In the finish the wine intensifies its flavour, relaunching an almost marine shock: oyster and peat

Pairing
