A week in Paris dedicated to the best Italian flavours. Gambero Rosso launches the first edition of Paris Week with a rich program of events and in-depth talks in the French capital, one of the most awarded cities in the Top Italian Restaurants guide dedicated to authentic Italian cuisine abroad. Monday, February 10th old and innovative recipes will be rediscovered in a dinner entirely dedicated to wood-fired grilling. Protagonists at Bijou, at the foot of Montmartre, are two award-winning Italian chefs, Gennaro Nasti, owner of Bijou and Tre Spicchi recipient in the Top Italian Restaurants guide, together with Michele Farnesi, the star of Dilia, awarded with Tre Gamberi. The experience will be completed by a selection of wines from native grape varieties with strong territorial belonging. The following day, for the first time in France, the Tre Bicchieri event will take place, with 60 excellent wineries that earned the highest score in the Vini d´Italia 2020 guide, for a Grand Tasting showcasing 120 labels covering the entire Italian wine scene. The largest Italian wine tasting in Paris will be held within the Vinexpo, official Gambero Rosso partner since 2014, after fruitful collaborations in Hong Kong and Bordeaux. Together with the producers, the best ambassadors of Italian cuisine will be present in Paris. During the event, at 4 pm, the restaurants, pizzerias and wine bars selected in the Top Italian Restaurants 2020 digital guide will be awarded. Plus, two in-depth seminars conducted by Gianni Fabrizio and Lorenzo Ruggeri. A unique tasting of 10 cuvées of Oltrepò Pavese Pinot Noir Classic Method in magnum format is also scheduled at Vinexpo, a true first for France, with a range of millesimes from 2007 to 2016. The second study will involve the Cellar of the Year according to Vini d'Italia, Frescobaldi, for a tasting that will trace the stages and evolution of a family that has been in wine for 700 years and represents one of the world's reference points. In support of these events, a number of Italian taste itineraries were created in Paris, raising awareness among the places listed in the guide to focus on some food-wine combinations that will be offered and relaunched throughout the week on the Italian and international Gambero Rosso social channels to bring value to Italian sensitivity in the combination of Italian flavours and native vines. Paolo Cuccia, President of Gambero Rosso said “We are happy to be in the French capital with the first Gambero Rosso Paris Week to celebrate Paris' wine and restaurant excellence. A week that will allow enthusiasts, experts and curious to discover and deepen knowledge regarding small Italian niche productions, drawing attention to the ambassadors of Italian taste."
