The Gussago company is a prestigious operation opened in 1901 by wine producer Luigi Gozio. In 1930, his sons Paolo and Giuseppe were responsible for a turning point in the family firm when they installed a modern steam distillation facility to obtain purer, more subtle products. In 1977 the company became Distillerie Franciacorta Spa, a true industry with high-tech equipment to deal with new scales of production and distribution. The Franciacorta brand includes Grappa Selezione Cuore and René Briand brandy, two prestigious labels in the world of spirits.
