Maso Turmbachhof soars over the small village of Turmbach, near Appiano. The estate, which grows fruit and grapes, has belonged to the Walcher family for nine generations. In 1966, Alfons Walcher began to distil spirits using the ancient double-boiler method, using chardonnay and pinot nero grapes. He soon acheived the great quality found today in the grappas, fruit aquavits, herb spirits and other luxurious specialities.
