Clairet is the name given by locals to nebbiolo grown in the middle Aosta Valley. Grosjean's 2021 version is utterly charming. With just a handful of bottles produced, it unveils raspberry notes joined by hints of tobacco and a fine licorice finish. The palate is even more gratifying: generous and fleshy, with solid structure but no heaviness. Fine tannins, superb sapidity, and textbook acidity make for a drink of rare elegance.
