In 1967, the Bacchetti family acquired an estate in Orzano di Remanzacco, in the Friuli Grave appellation, centered around the exquisite 19th-century Villa Pasini Vianelli. The estate's 150 hectares also included some vineyards. Then, in 2007, Roberto Bacchetti and Maria Luisa Trevisan decided to start making wine, entrusting enology to the care of Omar Pantarotto, who's still the winery's factotum. The philosophy embraced by Roberto is centered on demonstrating that even in the plains, with low yields and meticulous care, it's possible to produce outstanding, and especially long-lived, wines. Looking at the table below, one can observe how the wines are released some time after harvest (in any case, no fewer than three years, when they have reached a level of maturation deemed suitable based on the typology. The Sauvignon '18 stood out in our finals for its structure, linearity, and fragrance, while the excellent Pinot Grigio Ram '16 is the result of long maceration on the skins.
