Owned by the Bolfo family, Vallepicciola straddles the Castelnuovo Berardenga and Vagliagli UgA production zones. A journey that began in 1999 today represents one of Chianti's most ambitious winemaking projects, at least among those launched in the recent past. The cellar, which blends a modern design with sensitivity to the surrounding environment, opened its doors in 2016, while a diverse set of vineyards gives rise to a significant and varied range17 wines in all. The Chianti Classico Riserva '19 emanates aromas of ripe red and black fruits, complemented by touches of oak and balsamic inflections. However, it's on the palate where the wine truly shines: it offers a predominantly juicy and pervasive sensation, finishing on a delightful note of licorice. The Chianti Classico '21 is notable, with its austere aromas and sapid, forthright flavor. Both the palate and the nose of the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione La Pina '19 prove intensely concentrated.
