Terrazze dell'Etna is one of Etna's most captivating wineries, a testament to the zealous efforts of engineer Nino Bevilaqua who, starting in 2008, began reclaiming some abandoned land on the volcano's northern slope, in the Bocca d'Orzo district, yielding wines of considerable worth. Today, this striking estate, comprised of small terraces bolstered by dry stone walls and encircled by woods, is managed diligently by his daughter Alessia, who is gradually unlocking its great potential. Their range consistently delivers, especially when it comes to Metodo Classico sparkling wines. The exceptional Cuvée Blanc Brut '20, made from chardonnay grapes aged 36 months on the lees, proves elegant in its bouquet, yielding aromas of ripe white fruit, hints of citrus, and fint. The palate opens creamy, full-bodied, and delightfully fruity, with a wide and harmonious palate leading to a mineral finish of nice persistence. The fresh, balanced, fragrant, and sapid Cuvée Rosè Brut '20 also performed well.
