Recent additions to the winery include a vineyard of vermentino nero, an increasingly popular indigenous grape, planted historically in 1887 before the phylloxera crisis. Ivan Giuliani has also been meticulously studying the cultivated soils to produce wines that age gracefully. It's difficult work that requires careful research, but is aimed at achieving a notable level of production quality and a distinct identity. There's immense complexity across their entire range, notably the intense Sciacchetrà '19, which yields caramel and honey notes. The Vigne Basse '22 is especially impressive, conjuring aromas of peach and pineapple before a palate that's pleasantly fresh and sapid. The Cinqueterre '22 showcases nice acidity and vibrant aromas, making for a refined and harmonious white.
