A family with three generations of winemaking experience behind them, the Lunellis have been investing in Umbrian wine for over two decades. Their 30 organically-farmed hectares in Montefalco yield a range of wines that demonstrate year-on-year growth in quality and style. Primarily using local varieties like sagrantino and sangiovese, their wines represent a reliable illustration of the region's potential. For several years now, the entire range presented has proven excellent, from their simpler wines to their premium selections and reserves. The Lampante is a Riserva of great class and complexity, while the lightness of the Ziggurat stood out. Moving on to sagrantino, the Carapace '18 delivered with its character and structure, all without losing sight of drinkability, pleasantness, and linearity. The Lunga Attesa achieved an impressive feat, considering that it's been aging in the bottle for almost 8 years. It's a version that we look forward to trying in more recent vintages, which have also seen a significant change in the approach taken to sagrantino.
