Review

In a historical moment in which, unfortunately, the production of Prosecco has grown massive and amorphous, Ersiliana and Antonella Bronca are following a path that goes in the opposite direction. Theirs is a range centered on the single vineyard. Small plots of land, often perched on strikingly steep hills, provide grapes with very different characteristics. In the cellar Piero Balcon proves skilled in transforming them into wines marked by a clear, unmistakable profile. The latest addition to the Bronca family’s range, the Particella 181, debuted with a bang. Made with grapes from their Rua vineyards (about 15 kilometers east of the winery), it wins over the nose little by little, with ripe apple leaving room for notes of fresh flowers. The pluckier side of the territory emerges on the palate, where the wine shows nice fullness and vigor. The Particella 68 is the usual trove of harmony and fragrance, qualities that distinguish the best Prosecco Superiore.
