For nearly ninety years, the Scagliola family has told their story through their wines. Currently, Martina and Federica, the fifth generation, champion this unique region straddling Langhe and Monferrato. Located in San Siro di Calosso, a hill standing about 400 meters high, the terroir is as layered and diverse as borderlands can be: sand and tuff with limestone primarily for barbera, and marl and sand for moscato, the area's emblematic varietals, ensuring consistently high-quality production. The Nizza Forvia '20 is excellent, generously revealing its notes of quinine, sour cherry, black fruit, and juniper. The palate offers nice fruit and sapidity, slightly austere but long. The Barbera d'Asti Frem '21 features tones of licorice, sweet spices, and black plumit's a juicy drink, with firm energy and appeal. Other well-crafted wines include the Moscato d'Asti Volo di Farfalle '22, with its floral and tropical fruit tones, and the Piemonte Chardonnay Danvian '22, a supple wine redolent of white fruit and saffron.
