San Patrignano traces its roots back to the late 1970s, when Vincenzo Muccioli decided to establish a community founded on solidarity. Initially, the wines from sangiovese and trebbiano grapes originated from just a few vineyards, with grapes hand-harvested and foot-pressed, then aged in five wooden barrels. However, by the mid 1990s, a shift in direction led to the planting of new vineyards with merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc grapes, and renovation of their plots of sangiovese. Indeed, as chardonnay and sauvignon blanc were planted, the sangiovese began to take on a unique identity in these hills. The Sangiovese Ora '20 unveils an aromatic ensemble in which distinct fruit aromas like cherry and plum prevail alongside spicy notes of cloves. The palate features dynamism and well-managed tannins, ending gratifyingly. The 1978, a cabernet franc, showcases green bell pepper in its bouquet, followed by balsamic tones and black fruits. On the palate, it unveils a spirited and energetic demeanor, supported by consistent acidity and a powerful, rising finish.
