2011: that's the year of the first harvest for Andrea Mosca and Giovanna Pepe Diaz, two young producers who chose to leave the hustle and bustle of city life to reconnect more deeply with nature. To do this, they chose this pristine corner of Piedmont, purchasing vineyards, renovating a cellar, and launching wine production. Nebbiolo is the centerpiece of their range, shining in both Bramaterra and Lessona, but they also give ample space to croatina, a delicate, floral variety that's delightful to drink. The powerful and austere Bramaterra '19 emanates sanguine hints alongside whiffs of tobacco and licorice. It's austere on the palate, laden with mature, multifaceted tannins and an impressively long finish. The fresher and more intricate Lessona '19 highlights licorice, underbrush, and aromas of roots, coming through fresh and elegant on the palate. The Rocce di Luce '19 proves deep and vibrant, revealing notes of quinine, rhubarb, and subtle iodine, with a compact palate characterized by precise, vibrant tannins.
