Sara and Alberto Serena lead this large Volpago del Montello winery. Founded in 1968, it’s one of the Asolo territory’s main producers. A small set of estate vineyards are accompanied by historical collaborations with numerous local growers, allowing for consistent production that’s only dedicated in part to bottled wines. The historic cellar in Via Cal Trevigiana is undergoing major renovations, with new systems that will allow all work to be carried out with greater precision and care. An excellent debut for the new Asolo Brut FM333. Made with grapes from a vineyard in Fontana Masorin, it features vibrant fruity notes on the nose, impressing in the mouth for its harmony of acidity, sweetness and bubbles. In terms of their stills, the Manzoni Bianco Zuitèr ’19 is even more convincing, a glass that offers up aromas of white fruit, orange blossom and mandarin. In the mouth it’s sapid, dynamic, supported by a nice acidity that lengthens the palate.
