Masca del Tacco

Description

Acquired over ten years ago by Felice Mergè, owner of the well-known Poggio Le Volpi (in the Castelli Romani), Masca del Tacco is comprised of a large set of vineyards spread throughout Brindisi, Lecce and Taranto. Both traditional and international grapes are cultivated, from primitivo to susumaniello, pinot nero and chardonnay. The wines offered, which exhibit a modern style and are technically well made, favor aromatic clarity and richness of fruit. The Primitivo di Manduria Piano Chiuso 26 27 63 Riserva remains in the spotlight. The 2021, close-knit with great concentration and volume, offers up notes of black fruit preserves, revealing a full, compact character, culminating in a soft, expansive finish. The L'Uetta Fiano '22 is also commendable, revealing tropical fruit sensations paired with citrusy notes, proving smooth and readily enjoyable. The Susumaniello Rosato ‘22 stands out with its hints of tangerine and aromatic herbs, offering immediate pleasure and easy drinking.
