The Marano valley is wide and almost flat around the hamlet of Valgatara, before it gives way to vineyards (which rise abruptly to significant elevations). This is where we find Fabio Corsi’s cellar, the last stop in a supply chain that begins with a handful of hectares right on these hills, with the most interesting vineyards (Campo Gerico and Campo Rocco) arriving at 300+ meters above sea level. The range, dedicated mainly to traditional wines, features a full and rather fresh style. The Amarone CampoRocco ’16 pours a lovely, vibrant ruby red, with aromas that make a timid debut, slightly veiled, but that open quickly on notes of dried fruit, spices and crushed flowers. In the mouth the wine moves harmoniously, with alcohol, tannins and acidity blending perfectly. The lovely Valpolicella ’19 proves fragrant, highly pleasant.
