Over the past 30 years in Valpolicella we have seen instances of vine growers going from being mere grape suppliers to becoming all-round producers. In the case of Gabriele and Miriam Dalcanale, on the other hand, a passion for viticulture and life in the country led to the acquisition of a property in 2007. The vineyards, which extend for about 10 hectares in the municipalities of Negrar and Sant’Ambrogio, are organically managed and dedicated entirely to traditional grapes. The Valpolicella Ca ‘Besi ’18 features vibrant aromas of cherry, pepper and medicinal herbs, while on the palate it impresses with its freshness, coming through sapid and juicy, and tending towards acidity. The result is a long, highly elegant drink. The Amarone ’17 is marked by a similar stylistic path, obviously with greater concentration and power. Despite its solid and vigorous structure, it maintains lightness and finesse.
