La Buse dal Lôf

Description

According to an ancient map, the area where the winery is situated was once called La Buse dal Lôf, which in the local language translates to "The Wolf's Den". Inspired by the name, Giuseppe Pavan established his brand in 1972; today his son Michele manages a flourishing winery deeply rooted in Prepotto, the homeland of the schioppettino grape. The vineyards span soils with origins dating back to the Eocene epoch, composed entirely of marl and sandstone. The plots slope towards the plains, shielded by the Julian Alps and exposed to the breezes from the nearby Adriatic Sea. This year again, we were presented with a lineup of considerable size, offering us a comprehensive view of the producer's potential. Both their whites and reds received unanimous praise, with the Malvasia '22 brilliantly landing a place in our final round. The nose unveils notes of freesia, marjoram, and yellow peach, while on the palate, it stands out for its rich flavor complemented by pronounced minerality.
