Adolfo De Cecco, not yet 40 years old, has a clear vision for his winery. As a passionate wine enthusiast, in the mid-2010s he began searching for a territory that could express his idea of wine: structure with elegance and finesse. He found it in the mountains of Abruzzo, in Ofena. The project officially took off in 2018, although there had already been trials with the 2017 and 2016 vintages. Once again, the Campo Affamato leads their lineup, with the whites this year a bit subdued compared to the recent past. But it's no matter when you have a Montepulciano of this caliber in front of you: oak is measured, lending sensations of sweet and toasted spices, that pinch of three-dimensionality that adds charm to a bouquet of red and black fruits; on the palate, it showcases an elegance that few other wines of its kind can boast, with a rising finish playing on the finesse of mineral nuances.
