The large winery in Marano di Valpolicella has a long history of passionately and expertly transforming local grapes into wine. Today, Giuseppe Campagnola collaborates with his sons, Paolo and Andrea, to continue the success of a winery that boasts over a century of history. Their wide-ranging offerings hold a central place for Valpolicella wines, interpreted here with a rich, intensely fruity style. The Amarone Caterina Zardini '18 proves exemplary. This reserve offers up vibrant notes of juicy, mature cherry, which reemerge on the palate, surrounded by hints of vanilla and spices that give way to a long finish. Following a similar path is the Amarone Giuseppe Campagnola '19, which focuses on even clearer and more approachable fruit and a more supple dynamic of flavor. The Chiaretto di Bardolino Roccolo del Lago '22 proves intriguing and fresh.
