Despite offering a wide range of products, the Campagnola family’s large winery has its beating heart in Valpolicella, in the Marano valley especially. The estate vineyards give rise to their most important line, Caterina Zardini, while for the rest of their Verona wines they draw on collaborations with local growers. In Garda and in Friuli, in Mortegliano, they also have a considerable presence, cultivating the grapes destined for simpler and more approachable wines. Once again the most representative wine of the house is the Amarone Caterina Zardini ’16. A dark ruby red anticipates an aromatic suite dominated by sweet, ripe red fruit enriched by the presence of spices and nuances of oak. In the mouth its power is well managed by acidity and considerable tannic texture. The Ripasso ’19, from their Missoj estate, offers up vibrant fruity notes further developed on a full, energetic and warm palate.
