For 35 years now, Giorgio Cecchetto has been leading the small family business, expanding its reach for many hectares on the lands that line the course of the Piave River. Over time the property has grown to comprises plots in Motta di Livenza and Cornuda as well, each of which hosts the grapes best suited to the area’s soil and climate conditions: Glera in Cornuda, Manzoni Bianco and Bordeaux varieties in Motta and, of course, Raboso dominating around their Tezze cellar. Made with Raboso grapes dried at length, the passito RP pours a brilliant ruby red with purple hues. Aromatically, it sees sweet and fresh notes alternate continuously, with the presence of oak just in the background. In the mouth its sweetness is never overpoweringthe wine proves harmonious and supple. Aromatic richness and gustatory tension distinguish the Merlot Sante ’19, a wine that combines form and substance.
