In the 1990s, coinciding with the birth of the Bolgheri DOC zone, Gessica and Giuliano Frollani decided to revamp the family farm by focusing on quality viticulture. Drawing on modern designs, the cellar was constructed from steel and concrete, reflecting the ecological and evolutionary spirit of the producers. The vineyards, located in different areas (between Via Bolgherese, Via delle Ferrugini, and Via delle Sondraie), host cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot, petit verdot, syrah, and vermentino grapes. They also provide accommodation at their Conte Novello and Pelago guesthouses. The Moreccio '21 offers up a multifaceted bouquet, where sanguine notes and cherry fruitiness give way to hints of ink and Asian spices. It has a tasty, fresh palate, with excellent sustain, leaving a licorice aftertaste. The Poggio Querciolo '21, Syrah, opens on sweet aromas of marzipan, then currants, sage, rosemary. It has a beautifully structured body, rich, extractive, with adequate persistence.
