Ettore Sammarco

Description

The most renowned winery in Ravello is named after its founder, Ettore Sammarco, who in 1962 decided to create his own brand to vinify and sell the grapes from his Castiglione vineyard. Today the winery relies on a trusted group of local growers, while Ettore's son, Bartolo, focuses on bringing out the best of this patrimony. The result is a range with a Mediterranean flair that draws exclusively on native grapes. The Selva delle Monache lives up to its classic Mediterranean pedigree. Generous and fragrant with notes of lemon leaf meeting citrus, white peach, linden flowers, and fresh aromatic herbs, it features a palate sweet with fruit, brackish, lingering, narrowing to a long, elegant finish. The Vigna Grotta Piana '22 is equally classy: spicy, with inflections of Mediterranean scrub and aromatic herbs, slightly smoky; in the mouth it proves juicy and rich, invoking light citrus peel sensations.
