Current owner Paolo Meroi has lifted the winery founded by Davino (Paolo's father) to the fore of the region's best producers. For many years, he has been underscoring the potential of grapes from the historic Vigna Dominin, planted by his grandfather Domenico. Old vines produce healthy, perfectly ripe grapes, abundant in aromas, enabling Paolo to imbue his wines with a unique and sophisticated style. These wines are structured, concentrated, flavorful, and long-livedthe outcome of his proven experience and an undeniable skill in barrel aging. Unfortunately, only three wines were presented this year; many standout bottles that made this prestigious brand famous are missing. However, there's no arguing with the qualityMeroi remains a top-notch producer. The Pinot Grigio '21 stands out for its crispness and linearity. The Sauvignon '21 plays on the vegetal sensations characteristic of the varietal, accompanied by citrus and smoky hints. The Merlot Ros di Buri '19 proves vibrant on the nose and lively on the palate.
