Conte Emo Capodilista – La Montecchia
Giordano Emo Capodilista oversees the family business in the Euganean Hills. The vineyards (about 30 hectares) lie in two distinct areas at the northern and southern extremities of the volcanic system and enjoy very different climates, despite the few kilometers of distance between them. Production, therefore, is focused on bringing out these differences, with the southern wines oriented towards power and maturity while those from the north are geared towards tension and aromatic fragrance. The Villa Capodilista ’16 has been released after a long stay in the cellar, and the wait made for a wine of superb character. On the nose its fruit debuts crisp and crunchy, except for notes of dried flowers and medicinal herbs. In the mouth it reveals a slender profile of great finesse. The Donna Daria ’17 moves on a completely different track. Explosive in its aromas of candied citrus fruits, licorice and toasted hazelnuts, in the mouth its bursting sweetness is balanced by an exquisite supporting sapidity.
