In Predappio, nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea, vineyard care, harvesting, winemaking, and wine trade have been carried out since the late 14th century. On these hills, a native variety of small sangiovese grapes, called sangiovese di Predappio, is cultivated. Francesco Condello was born here and returned to become a winemaker. Today, his entire family works diligently in the vineyards and cellar, infusing artisanal care into every step and showing immense respect for the environment, land, and biodiversity. The result? Wines primarily made from sangiovese, save for one chardonnay. The Raggio Brusa Riserva '20 graces the nose with a varied aromatic profile, featuring plums, blackberries, and cherries in syrup, softened by spicy juniper notes. The palate opens firmly, then relaxes with integrated tannins and a juicy finish of pleasing length. The Caleri '21 conveys hints of tomato leaf and iron on the nose, followed by fruits like red currants. Its flavor intrigues, with a well-blended acidic streak leading to a lively, brisk finish.
