Colombaio di Cencio, a winery established in the early 1990s, became part of the Farinetti family's wine empire in 2017. The vineyards are located in the municipality of Gaiole in Chianti, on the plots of Cornia, Montelodoli, and Vinci, at elevations spanning 280-480 meters. Aging is carried out primarily in large barrels, resulting in wines with a balanced yet well-defined stylistic profile, reflecting their region of origin. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Lodoli '20 conjures up violet and rose aromas alongside smoky and spicy touches. In the mouth, the wine has nice tannic grip and the palate is sapid and well-focused, with a long finish rich in contrasts. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vinci '20 is also a well-crafted wine, with airy and intense aromas, and a firm, austere palate. The Futuro '20, made from merlot, cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, is a bit more predictable.
