In the late 20th century, Ca' Rugate was a small family business in Brognoiligo. Nobody could have predicted that within two decades, it would be counted among the most important wineries in the area. Michele Tessari and his visionary father, Amedeo, share the credit for this transformation. Soave and Valpolicella are the heart of their production, but their dedication to Lessinia's durello is increasingly significant. This year the Tessari family put in an outstanding performance, with the Monte Fiorentine '21 shining for its aromatic finesse and gustatory tension, proving to be a white of character and finesse. The Monte Alto '20 is richer, slower, and more complex, while the Amedeo '17 manages to harmoniously blend the audacity of durella with the producer's poised style. A special mention goes to Campo Lavei '20, which, vintage after vintage, acquires aromatic freshness and an increasingly elegant gustatory profile.
