Wine producer

Carminucci

Description

More than 90 years have passed since the founding of the winery managed by Piero Carminucci and his son Giovanni. A solid producer, it makes use of a large and well-equipped cellar on the foothills of Grottammare, while a large part of the vineyards are scattered around Offida. Yet their range doesn't draw strictly on local tradition—to the contrary, theirs is a modern production style that favors strong, fruity sensations (citrus / tropical fruit for the whites), full and fragrant on the palate, and always with a keen eye towards drinkability. The fragrance of the Grotte sul Mare '21 impresses—it's a laid-back red, tasty from the first to the last drop thanks to pronounced tones of morello cherries, flowers and plums all fused on a supple palate, with moderate tannins. The Superiore Naumakos '19 is more structured and weighty: on the nose a touch of tonneaux is detectable, but its toastiness blends nicely with a parade of red fruit flavors. The Belato '21 proves redolent of tropical fruits, grapefruit and sage, sensations that reemerge on a tasty, persistent palate.
