Since 2004, siblings Sara and Luca Carbone have continued their family's tradition in Melfi. They've acquired new vineyards, primarily cultivating aglianico and fiano. The historic plots lie in Piani dell'Incoronata and Montelapis, while newer ones can be found in Braide (which also houses the new cellar for winemaking). In Melfi's historic center, an ancient cellar carved into volcanic rock serves as the aging chamber for their aglianico. The 400 Some '19 flies into the finals, revleaing harmony and richness in its elegant, well-balanced structure. Its fruit is sapid and crisp, softened by spicy notes, and the wine progressively unveils a fine tannic weave and notable persistence. The Stupor Mundi '19, also from old vines, opts for concentration and soft tones of ripe fruit. The Rosa Carbone '22 proves sapid and citrusyan enjoyabl drink.
