Astroni hill, nestled between Agnano and Pozzuoli, is an integral part of the stunning Phlegraean Fields, and historically known for its piedirosso and falanghina. This winery stands as one of the area's leading entities, boasting a holding of 13 hectares while leasing another 12. Currently, Cristina Varchetta promotes the territory both domestically and internationally, while Gerardo Vernazzaro masterfully crafts the grapes into an increasingly refined range. The Colle Rotondella is the red we'd always want to drink, a Piedirosso adept at merging extreme drinkability, a multifaceted profile, and the identity of grape and region. It does so by weaving together aromas of fresh red and black fruits, a faintly smoky whiff, and a distinct floral and spicy trace. The palate stands out for its suppleness, sapid-acidic support, and flavorful intensity. This blueprint is also reflected in the Falanghina Colle Imperatrice, a fragrant and elegant drink, supple with an impressive gustatory progression.
