If Prosecco has become one of the best known Italian wines in the world, part of the credit should go to the historic winery founded by Giuliano Bortolomiol, a visionary interpreter of the regional sparkling wine tradition that began after the war. Today his daughters manage a producer whose heart is rooted in Conegliano Valdobbiadene, drawing on a close-knit network of growers who bring their crop to the cellar. Their range is rounded out by small line of estate wines. The Ius Naturae ’20, made with grapes from estate vineyards, features nice intensity of fruit, clear and enticing. On the palate it reveals fullness, flavor and juice, proving fresh and gratifying. The Motus Vitae ’19 moves on a different track, Made with grapes from their best vineyards in San Pietro di Barbozza, it stands out for its complexity and harmony. We are pleased to report the growth, harvest after harvest, of the Segreto di Giuliano ’18, a monovarietal Sangiovese from Montalcino.
