In a region overwhelmingly dominated by glera, Antonio Bonotto, alongside his wife Vittoria and son Luigi, remains devoted to historic grape varieties, particularly raboso. The venerable winery on Via Duca d'Aosta recently expanded, facilitating meticulous and timely operations. The resulting wines are forthright and refined, conveying a production philosophy that leans towards elegance and refreshingly crisp palate. Great attention is paid to the production of Raboso Potestà 20, the producer's most representative wine. Separate management of individual batches and different maturation lay the foundation for a captivating red where intense notes of ripe cherry are echoed by balsamic shades and slight spicy hints. In the mouth, the wine reveals all the vigor of the Treviso grape, one wrought of compactness, acidity, and tight tannins. The Merlot Spezza '21 is fresher, more immediate, and has a lively drinkability.
