Bertinga is a vineyard, a wine, and the name of a project born with clear intentions right from the start. It's an operation established recently in 2015 by the duo of lifelong friends Maksim Kashirin and Anatoly Korneev, whose chosen location is the hills of Gaiole in Chianti and, in addition to the aforementioned Bertinga, the plots of Adine and Vertine. All of this is carried out with the support of winemaker Stéphane Derenoncourt. Their well-defined production style aims for finesse and balance. The Chianti Classico La Porta di Vertine '20 emanates aromas of small red fruits and flowers, with some spicy and toasted accents. In the mouth, the palate proves delicate, honed and tasty, with a well-sustained, rhythmic progression and a focused finish on citrus hints. The Sassi Chiusi '18, a blend based on sangiovese and merlot, unveils a darker aromatic timbre and an austere progression of flavor. The Punta di Adine '17, 100% sangiovese, proves compact and concentrated.
