Review

This historic Grezzana winery, known for an Amarone that can age with great precision and character, has for some years focused on Valpolicella and its Superiore version. Andrea Lonardi has managed to identify the best vineyards for their production and interpret them with great delicacy, renouncing extractive strength in favor of wines that know how to express the territory and its traditions, rediscovering an elegance that’s been lost for too long. The Ognisanti ’19 is an emblematic wine, a Superiore marked by elegant aromas of wild fruit adorned by medicinal herbs and pepper. It wins over the palate with its elegance and tension. The Amarone ’12, left to rest even longer in the cellar, opens today on aromas rich in spicy nuances and crushed flowers, while in the mouth its compactness is managed with tension and suppleness by supporting acidity.
